How can wash clothes and a permanent marker help save the earth, well let me tell ya'll....

It is very PC and hip right now to be as "GREEN" as possible... and really it is, just making little tweaks to your routines can have a big impact .... some of the things that people suggest are easy, like using reusable shopping bags.... while others are a little more time and money consuming, like buying a hybrid car or using all solar panel energy for your house.....
So, I was thinking "What could I change in my life to become a little more "GREEN"?... and then I had an A HA!!! moment..... my family has a love for paper towels...seriously we have an addiction, we use them for cleaning, napkins, to sop up the grease from bacon, separating your toes while you paint them, capes or parachutes for your super hero's or army men, etc., etc., etc......
I wondered why not use a wash clothe? It is not a new idea, but paper towels are easy and wash clothes are one more thing to was, and I don't want to accidentally get the cleaning ones mixed up with my good ones, because I don't want to wash my face with something I cleaned the outside of the toilet with, so I came up with this....
I bought an 18 pack of All - Purpose Wash clothes from Wal-Mart, the kind that are too scratchy to use on your body I think, but still soft enough to use to dust and wipe down delicate things.... I then proceeded to use a bright colored permanent marker and made a huge X down the middle on one side.... I used the orange so I could not possible miss it when I am doing the laundry and putting them away....

Now I have an ample supply of cleaning rags and no one can mistake them for our good washcloths.....
It may not be like living in an all recyclable house that runs on solar energy that cooks our all vegan organic meals, but hey, it's a start....

A start indeed! Great idea!!
Great tip, very clever. I am a dishrag user, but never because I wanted to cut down on paper towels, mainly because I didn't want to pay for paper towels! HA! I always wonder if I am wasting more water than I would be paper towels, as I go through A LOT of dishrags. I never like to use the same one for very long?!
