We don't need no stinkin' tonsils....

We had a very full week this week... I have told ya'll that I do the music for Mother's Day Out at a local church and they asked me to be the Preschool Music Director for their Vacation Bible School and it was alot of fun and a lot of work...

I could only do the music until Thursday, because on Friday Mr. J was scheduled to have his tonsils and adenoids removed... he stressed out about it all week and come Friday morning when we were loading up in the car, he asked if we could make a run to Mexico, this was his last ditch effort to get out of going to the hospital... we chose to have the surgery done at a hospital in the next town over, because I really like that hospital more than the one in our town...

My ex-husband came down from Missouri to be with him and he meet us at the hospital... Mr. D was a trooper and was on all day Baby O duty in the waiting room surrounded by my ex-mother in law, so you know he has to love me BIG to to that..... there could only be 2 people at a time in the room with Mr. J , so the majority of the time it was the X and me.... we got along just fine and the day was going OK... around 12:30 they took Mr. J back, and I know that it was just his tonsils, but to see them wheel him away all loopy and scared was not a pleasant moment for me... Mr. D and I were hungry, and the nurse told us that the cafeteria was not serving hot food due to a break in a water line, so if we wanted we had enough time to go run and get a bite since Mr. J would be in surgery for at least an hour and a half...

On top of getting some food, Baby O was teething and we were out of baby Tylenol in the diaper bag, so we decided to run to the local Wal-Mart and get her some tylenol and grab a sandwich at the Subway that was located inside the store... now when we went into the store it was not raining, but when we were leaving we started to notice Wal-Mart employees running around and they were soaked form head to toe... we got to the big sliding glass doors leading outside, and I am not kidding it was raining so much and the wind was blowing so ferocious you could not see any cars in the parking lot...

Some manager stopped us at the door and said they could not let us leave and then the power went out and they ordered everyone to go to the middle of the store and sit on the ground to take cover... so here we are, Mr.D , Baby O and me sitting in the towel aisle of Wal-Mart... we took down some bath mats and sat on them, there is no need to be uncomfortable and sit on a dirty floor even though you are freaking out because your son is going thru surgery in a hospital that is apparently going thru a tornado or at least tornado like winds.... it finally lifted about 30 minutes later and we got out of there as fast as we could....

It was still raining, but the winds had died down... you know the cart things in the parking lots were you put your cart ?... well those were all moved around randomly in the parking lot, crashed up against cars... some shopping carts had hit into the building so hard it broke chunks of rock off... driving back to the hospital, was kinda surreal, I mean their were trees on top of cars and awnings ripped off of businesses, trees ripped up by their roots just lying in the road.... when we got back to the hospital, Mr. J was out of surgery in recovery, but had only been in there for a few minutes... the hospital had lost power along with the entire town, but was running on it auxillary power supply.... we had to stay for another 4 1/2 hours then they let us go home...

What do we find when we get home ?.... NO POWER.... all the ice cram and Popsicle's I had bought him were melting... our house was hot with no A/C, and Jennie needs her A/C .... but

Mr. D came thru in the pinch and hooked up his generator and at least we had cold food and our ceiling fans could run... Mr. J is feeling pretty good and he should with as much pain med he is getting and thankfully our power came back on Saturday afternoon but ALOT of people around us and all over this area are still without power, so keep them in your prayers... at least now Mr. J has a cool story to tell everyone about the day he had his tonsils taken out....

Hope everyone had a great weekend and has a great week.... OH, Baby is turning the BIG #1 on Wednesday... I am so sad.....

Jeez, girl how scary!!!

When that storm came through a horrible stomach virus hit me at the same exact time!!! I went from hiding in the closet to running to the bathroom....I can't imagine how you felt being stuck in Wal-Mart when your child is in surgery during a tornado!!

Glad all went well with the surgery and that ya'll had a generator so the ice cream didn't go to waste!!!

I had no power either for 3 hours...sucked!

Look for the one that says, "it's not what you think!"

Bless you!
